What Is Cash-Based Physical Therapy?

Cash-based physical therapy is physical therapy provided without billing insurance. Instead, it is based around a fixed rate. Going through insurance can slow down the therapy process, and it does not ensure one-on-one care. Insurance companies often limit physical therapy care or direct services away from what the physical therapist recommends.

Now, you’re probably asking, “Can I still use my HSA (health savings account) or FSA (flexible spending account)?” Absolutely! We are providing one-on-one physical therapy care; we are simply choosing not to bill insurance. Since we are choosing to do it this way, the out-of-pocket rate is significantly cheaper.

You may also be thinking, “Well… I pay for my insurance and would like to use it.” We don’t blame you! Upon request, we can give you a receipt that you are welcome to submit to your insurance for “out-of-network physical therapy services.” Your insurance company may then reimburse you based on your out-of-network physical therapy coverage.
